Requirements

  • Understanding of Calrec Console and the complexities of the console when used in the live production environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a extremely fast paced production environment, while maintaining a high level of quality in one’s work, concern for the needs of the production and care for the finished product going to air nightly.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across operational, management and technology layers to solve problems and provide solutions.
  • Experience with audio standards and related infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate with maintenance and engineering to have the most updated technical documentation and workflow diagrams for the facility
  • Ability to work with engineers to test and integrate new systems.
  • Current member, or willingness to join, IBEW union

  • LAWO console experience

Responsibilities

  • 10 years' experience in a broadcast audio environment. Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and expertly navigate all audio components of Entertainment TV programming.
  • Calrec Console experience is required, LAWO console experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of broadcast audio equipment and high-level audio concepts- examples include but are not limited to: Consoles; Lavalier, Handheld and Boom Microphones; Audio Routing; AES, Madi, & Analog workflows.
  • Proven experience operating (in live production environments) and programming RTS ADAM/ ODIN comms systems, including AZ Edit configuration and troubleshooting
  • Working with Audio Assists (A2’s) on the floor and other audio mixers to check mics, PA, Monitors, on a daily basis in preparation for rehearsal and taping of show.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IP-based intercom and audio infrastructure, including RVON, trucking, and networked comms workflows.
  • QC of all incoming footage and media for show, ability to relay issues in a timely manner and work with production and technical teams to resolve for use on live to air tapings.
