The 4-H Program Assistant is a part-time (25 hours per week) position within the Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development program, serving Carroll County. Working under the supervision of the 4-H Program Manager, this role supports the department’s mission to provide high-quality, research-based youth programming by planning and delivering hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) educational experiences. The position is integrated into the broader 4-H program structure, collaborating with staff, volunteers, and community partners to expand access to STEM learning opportunities for youth in both club and public settings. Core responsibilities include implementing established STEM Pathway curricula, facilitating engaging and developmentally appropriate programs, and building partnerships with local community organizations to broaden program reach. The Program Assistant will receive training in STEM curriculum delivery and will have opportunities to contribute to the development of new programs and activities. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with program goals. While the position carries meaningful responsibility in program delivery and community engagement, it is not designated as essential staff.
