About The Position

This role supports plant operations to optimize resource utilization, meet established plant goals, and exceed client/customer expectations. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, production, materials, and plant policies and procedures. They will support team members in daily work activities, including performing the work of team members as needed. The role involves organizing and directing job rotation programs, coordinating cross-functional training, and serving as a communication conduit between their assigned area and other parts of the plant. The Team Leader must be computer literate, available to work assigned shifts and hours as necessary, and make decisions based on available information and procedures. They are expected to provide leadership, demonstrate behaviors aligned with plant expectations and Company's CITE Principles, and complete all required training to maintain current skill sets. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the training of hourly team members, encouraging a positive attitude, managing daily activities for equipment maintenance, ensuring 5S/clean-up expectations are met, and participating in Kaizen, TPM, and cross-functional team events. Travel may be required for training events. A general knowledge of all jobs in the department and understanding of all applicable machinery and equipment in the assigned area are necessary. Other tasks may be assigned by plant management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED required, in lieu of education extensive knowledge of all processes associated within the scope of the respective team may be considered.
  • Manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required positions in the team assigned.
  • Track record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement.
  • Experience performing duties in a working in team’s environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated behavior that supports the company’s core values and CITE principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, pallet tickets, or job orders.
  • Must communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Use basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to such tasks as inventory control, material ordering, and job order verification.
  • Perceive problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance to all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures.
  • Support team members in daily work activities to meet the needs of clients as needed. Will include performing the work of the team members.
  • Organize and direct job rotation programs in their area of responsibility and coordinate cross functional training to support job rotation.
  • Serve as a conduit of information between assigned area and other parts of the plant.
  • Make decisions based on available information and policies/procedures within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership and demonstrate behaviors that aligns with plant expectations and the Company’s CITE Principles.
  • Successfully complete all training required to meet the needs of the team (and applicable job rotations).
  • Assist in training of hourly team members.
  • Encourage team members and promote a positive attitude.
  • Manage daily activities to complete the PM’s for all equipment, tools and support equipment within assigned area.
  • Assure that the team maintains daily 5s/ clean-up expectations for area of responsibility.
  • Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross functional teams events as requested.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by plant management.
