About The Position

CORMETECH, Inc. is seeking a 3rd Shift Team Lead to lead and prioritize daily responsibilities of Operation Associates, ensuring all operational goals are achieved for output, quality, safety, housekeeping, and communications. This role involves direct responsibility for Operations Associate performance, training, and adherence to company policies. The Team Lead will function as a working leader, performing job functions in Cutting, Assembly, Inspection, and Oven/Activation, and filling in as needed on other equipment. The position requires ensuring work teams comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety training and compliance (including PPE usage and risk assessments), and quality standards. The Team Lead will train and evaluate associates, provide input for Pay for Performance certifications, liaise with plant maintenance, and ensure housekeeping and cleanliness standards are met. They will be accountable for assigning and directing associates to meet production targets and quality standards, monitoring incoming materials and equipment, and facilitating departmental meetings with the oncoming shift. The role also involves exercising independent judgment regarding associate breaks, lunches, and daily job assignments, and ensuring the accuracy of shift records and databases. The Team Lead will also aid in the startup of new equipment and processes and has the authority to send employees home for serious offenses, subject to management review.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (post-secondary education preferred).
  • Must have a good understanding of computers and Microsoft products.
  • Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, and self-motivated/self-starter.
  • Expected to gain experience and complete certifications in lead department as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds weight when necessary.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Work in an environment with high noise levels.
  • Computer skills (data management, word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Merit based pay through PFP graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job functions at Cutting, Assembly, Inspection and Oven/Activation; also, will fill in as needed on other equipment.
  • Ensure work team maintains compliance with all written standard operating procedures (SOP) regarding the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee all safety training & compliance including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and safety risk assessments within his/her process area.
  • Assure compliance with all quality standards related to the process area.
  • Train and evaluate all assigned process area associates.
  • Provide input and assist the Supervisor with Pay for Performance certifications.
  • Liaise with plant maintenance for any required repairs and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Assure housekeeping, cleanliness and contamination standards are met within his/her process area.
  • Assign and direct operations associates to ensure production targets and quality standards are maintained.
  • Monitor incoming steel, tools, supplies, and other equipment to ensure production capability at all times.
  • Facilitate departmental meetings with oncoming shift.
  • Exercise independent judgment as to sequence and timing of operations associates breaks/lunch.
  • Exercise independent judgment regarding operations associates daily job assignments within their work team.
  • Assure accuracy and completeness of all records and databases collected on his/her shift within the process area.
  • Aid in the startup of new equipment and processes within area of expertise, when directed.
  • Ability to send employees home that commit serious offenses as defined in the Cormetech Handbook, decision must be reviewed with the appropriate member of management prior to taking any action.
