About The Position

AAM is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Ridgway, PA. As a Production Supervisor, you will Interact with Area Managers, Team Leaders, and manufacturing associates to assess requirements, develop plans, and provide necessary materials and direction. Oversee the planning, scheduling, setup, and execution of production activities. Manage the distribution of materials required for production and maintain appropriate labor and material levels to meet daily production schedules. Lead production associates and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production, performance, equipment maintenance, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical apptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Forging and/or Powdered Metal experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production associate outcomes by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining associates.
  • Understand and consistently apply all hourly policies and procedures by communicating expectations, addressing issues, and holding associates accountable.
  • Utilize operational tools aimed at monitoring key process indicators of operational performance such as build attainment, labor efficiency, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE)
  • Maintains production processes by observing process volumes and recommending process adjustments.
  • Completes production processes by monitoring progress; expediting material flow and work results; resolving problems.
  • Maintains process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to next shift.
  • Improves process workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyzing delays; testing new methods.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Records production by completing daily shift production reports; calculating yields and recoveries.
  • Contributes to production process and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results
  • Understand all aspects of department in order to assist with set up of machines including fixturing, tooling, loading programs, trouble shooting, etc.
  • Ensure that the equipment is operating properly and safely throughout the shift.
  • Verify that we meet quality standards and reduce scrap levels in assigned area.
  • Develop, suggest, and implement changes in the process to improve quality or maximize labor efficiency to meet goals of the company.
  • Able to perform operator duties as needed and directed by shift supervisor based on staffing levels/demand.
  • Assist in material handling tasks to maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • All other duties as assigned.
