About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The work environment can vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity, and may be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. The physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting up to 70lbs may be required, and safety toe boots with 75lbs. resistance are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduate of industrial maintenance training program or combination of experience and education to meet the 2 – year requirement
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading and writing
  • Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
  • Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
  • Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
  • Perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
  • Assist with other mechanics as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
