About The Position

St. Mary Marion is seeking a passionate and energetic 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position at St. Mary School-Marion, a PK-8 Catholic School, involves creating a warm classroom environment that fosters curiosity and growth. The ideal candidate will implement lessons with clarity and creativity, holding high expectations for students. This role requires a candidate who encourages harmony and communication, cares deeply about engaging children in learning, and thrives in a collaborative team setting. The teacher will be responsible for instructing a single group of children in mathematics, language arts, religion, social studies, and science.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.

  • Current teaching license for the PK-5 grade range.
  • Active, practicing Catholic.
  • Serve as a model of Catholic faith for the students and represent the teachings of the Catholic church.
  • Comfortable using internet and educational technology, and willing to master new tools.
  • Establish and maintain a classroom environment in which students thrive mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
  • Use instruction, assessment, planning, and accommodations to effectively meet the needs of students.
  • Engage with families and contribute to school life and community.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching mathematics, language arts, religion, social studies, and science to a single group of 3rd-grade children.
  • Implementing lessons and activities with clarity, creativity, and high expectations.

  • Using varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning.
  • Planning and delivering effective instruction to advance the learning of each individual student.
  • Creating Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement.
  • Collaborating and communicating with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community.
  • Assuming responsibility for professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement.
