About The Position

QTS is a global digital infrastructure company that designs, builds, and operates data centers supporting AI, cloud, and digital transformation initiatives. The 3D Designer provides in-house modeling expertise in partnership with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Design. The role supports external marketing by creating visualizations of QTS campuses and facilities, including 3D models, textures, and environments for architectural buildings and customer solutions. It also involves integrating renders into photography through perspective matching and photo compositing. The designer develops architectural renderings for projects at various design stages and contributes to a range of creative work, from ideation through production and delivery. The role collaborates with graphic designers, writers, video producers, leadership, and internal and external customers to produce clear, compelling visual solutions. The position is bonus eligible.

Requirements

BFA in industrial design, architectural design, exhibit design, interior design, or equivalent.
1–3 years of industry experience.
Understanding of technologies, materials, and techniques.
Experience in the architecture, design, or construction industries.
Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Proficiency in one or more of Enscape, Lumion, Twin Motion, 3DSMax, Blender, and V-Ray.
Rendering and visualization skills.
Understanding of photography and image manipulation techniques.
Knowledge of visualization and rendering software and the ability to make recommendations.

Responsibilities

Understand the visualization and rendering mission for external and internal efforts and develop a strategy for creating impactful assets.
Develop architectural renderings for projects at various stages of design.
Ensure presentations meet project objectives and clearly communicate design solutions through 3D visualization or rendered output.
Generate ideas quickly through digital or analog sketches, research, reference images, and design models.
Collaborate with graphic designers to integrate work with graphic applications.
Work with writers, video producers, and other creative team members to deliver holistic creative solutions.
Manage time and balance multiple projects.
Present ideas clearly and confidently to build partnerships with internal and external clients.
Manage projects from start to delivery, including presentations, customer collaboration, visualization design, and production.
Work with leadership throughout production and communicate creative concepts that can be produced on time.
Manage the handoff of assets to other media channels as appropriate.
Present work and check in with the Creative Director throughout each project.
Encourage the team with energy and optimism and advance the program and its goals.
Work collaboratively in a large, complex environment while maintaining an independent perspective.
Work directly with leadership to understand audiences, communication needs, mediums, and mission.
