About The Position

Nesco Resource is seeking a Civil Designer or Civil 3D Designer to support industrial engineering and design projects in Houston, Texas. The role focuses on developing and modifying civil design drawings and 3D models, with work involving grading, drainage, site layouts, and underground utilities. Candidates with piping design experience using CADWorx or AVEVA E3D may also be considered, especially those who can interpret engineering drawings and model piping systems at specified slopes and elevations. This position is suited to an early-career to mid-level designer who is technically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The designer will interpret plans, drawings, elevations, and specifications; incorporate engineering markups and revisions; check models and drawings for accuracy and potential interferences; and prepare project deliverables according to standards. The role also supports senior engineers and designers during project development. Requirements

2–6 years of relevant civil design, piping design, or industrial CAD experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and elevation information.
Demonstrated ability to accurately model piping or utility systems on a slope.
Working experience with at least one relevant 3D design platform, such as Civil 3D, CADWorx, or AVEVA E3D.
Understanding of grading, drainage, underground utilities, or piping layout concepts.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Ability to follow design standards and incorporate engineering revisions.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading and drainage design.
Experience with CADWorx or AVEVA E3D for piping and utility modeling.
Previous experience supporting industrial, oil and gas, chemical, or EPC projects.
Familiarity with underground piping, drainage systems, and site development.
Associate degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

Develop and modify civil design drawings and 3D models for industrial facilities.
Assist with site grading, drainage, and underground utility layouts.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop and revise grading and drainage models.
Interpret engineering plans, drawings, elevations, and design specifications.
Model piping and underground utility systems at appropriate slopes and elevations.
Coordinate with Civil, Piping, Structural, and other engineering disciplines.
Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, and potential interferences.
Incorporate engineering markups and design revisions.
Prepare drawings and design deliverables in accordance with project standards.
Support senior engineers and designers throughout project development.
