About The Position

As an Animator on Dead by Daylight, you’ll focus on crafting powerful, realistic character performances that bring tension, weight, and emotion to the world of horror. With a strong foundation in keyframe animation, you’ll shape nuanced and believable movements that define how Survivors and Killers feel moment to moment. Driven by a passion for horror and grounded, realistic animation, you’ll work closely with animation, design, and technical teams to create performances that support gameplay, atmosphere, and storytelling in one of the most iconic live service horror games.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in animation within the gaming, film, tv or entertainment industry.
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya, or equivalent is a must.
  • Solid understanding of animation tools, with a basic knowledge of rigging concepts and video game production pipelines.
  • Strong observation skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage tasks and projects effectively.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong client/player-focused approach.
  • Strong skills in realistic animation, with the ability to create grounded, believable movement, weight, and physicality that enhances immersion in Dead by Daylight.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with game engine is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively apply the principles of animation to create a high-quality character.
  • Understand game design intentions and create in conjunction with the art team the required animation lists for characters.
  • Integrate your animation in game engine.
  • Have the ownership of the characters and ensure the overall quality of the product.
  • Help define, structure, and evolve animation workflows and pipelines, ensuring best practices are shared and consistently applied across the team.
  • Animate a diverse cast of characters from grounded human movement to unsettling creatures, monsters, and mechanical beings while maintaining a strong sense of realism and weight.
