About The Position

This Mobile 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician (T4) will be based out of Ryder Kitchener site, and travel to other sites nearby with our service truck, performing PM, major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position with a wage of $42 per hour, located in Kitchener, ON. Shifts are from 6:30 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, with a starting time that can be discussed.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred
  • Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,
  • Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. advanced required
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
  • Travel Safety Sensitive Non-Regulated Tech
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems.
  • Perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessary
  • Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly thorough and dependable.
  • Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A/C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System: (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.
  • Coaches/mentors other level technicians
  • Advise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
  • Performs facility maintenance duties.
  • Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.
  • Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)
  • Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.
