About The Position

The 2nd Shift Supervisor is the first point of contact for employees on 2nd shift. The 2nd shift supervisor will have the opportunity to lead and motivate a diverse group of talented employees engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts and/or products. This position reports to the day-shift manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse groups of individuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrate math proficiency as it relates to this job.

  • Executes the schedule as determined and provided by day shift manager.
  • Ensures daily KPIs are achieved.
  • Identifies root cause for misses and develops countermeasures to ensure targets can be achieved.
  • Analyzes and resolves concerns or assists workers in identifying solutions to concerns.
  • Communicates orally and/or written with stakeholders in the organization to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase engagement and efficiency.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties to workforce.
  • Maintains and validates time sheets and approving time off requests and production records.
  • Conducts annual employee performance reviews.
  • Directly supervises up to 30 production employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews; recognition, providing on-going constructive feedback; addressing complaints and problem resolution.
