About The Position

Directs and coordinates through the Manufacturing Manager the utilization, maintenance, and improvement of equipment to conduct the manufacturing of quality products. This role involves directing all manufacturing activities within the area of responsibility, including identifying, selecting, and weighing raw materials from pre-determined formulations. The supervisor will discuss and schedule batches to meet priorities with the Manufacturing Manager, and ensure manufacturing and matching of standards and specifications to a level where laboratory and/or customer approval may be obtained. Maintaining product quality, assisting staff in improving methods and procedures, and managing costs within guidelines are key aspects. The role also focuses on reducing waste material and rework, maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and directly training personnel. Ensuring employee safety through proper training in a safe work environment, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, driving employee engagement, and administering disciplinary action are also crucial responsibilities. The supervisor will act as an advisor to the Manufacturing Manager in budget creation and operate within established budgets. Maintaining good housekeeping, ordering supplies with supervisor approval, and working Saturdays as needed are also part of the role. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven conflict resolution ability.
  • Excellent mathematical, written, and verbal skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High degree of responsibility and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated strong safety behavior and record.
  • Knowledge of plant G.M.P.’s, environmental, safety and quality control procedures.
  • Must have and maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all manufacturing activities as they pertain to the area of responsibility.
  • Identify, select, and weigh raw materials from pre-determined formulations.
  • Discuss and schedule batches to meet priorities with the Manufacturing Manager.

  • Maintain quality level of product.
  • Assist staff and others in making improvements in methods and procedures.
  • Maintain costs within guidelines, initiate cost reductions within area of responsibility, while maintaining quality product.
  • Attempt to reduce waste material and rework.
  • Maintain GMP’s.
  • Directly train personnel assigned to perform job requirements of the department.
  • Responsible for employees’ safety through proper training in a safe work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports on a regular basis for growth and development.
  • Responsible for driving employee engagement and administering fair and consistent disciplinary action.
  • Act as advisor to Manufacturing Manager in the creation of recommended budgets for the department.
  • Operate within budgets as established.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of good housekeeping within the department.
  • Order and maintain proper supplies for department with approval of immediate supervisor.
  • Work Saturdays as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
