About The Position
The 2nd Pressman will be responsible for assisting the press operator in various aspects of printing operations. This includes feeder operation, makeready assistance, maintenance and cleaning of the press, material handling, and quality control. The role requires a strong attention to detail, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to follow technical instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail, basic mechanical skills, and ability to follow technical instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.
- Previous experience in printing, manufacturing, or a mechanical field is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Stock the feeder, ensure consistent paper flow, and troubleshoot jams.
- Assist with setting up the press, installing plates, and loading ink for new jobs.
- Wash blankets, clean ink fountains/rollers, lubricate machinery, and dispose of old plates.
- Stage paper, load/unload feeders, and monitor ink/coating levels.
- Assist with color checks, register monitoring, and removing defective product.
