About The Position

Immaculate Conception School is seeking a dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. This role is integral to our mission of educating children in the life of Jesus Christ, nurturing academic excellence, and fostering nobility of character within a Pre-K through 8 Catholic school environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the Catholic faith and a love for educating young minds. Responsibilities include assisting students in mastering curriculum skills and information while fostering their growth in faith and responsibility. Teachers are expected to integrate Catholic teachings and virtues, understand student learning and development, know their subject matter, use varied assessments, plan and deliver effective instruction, create Christ-centered learning environments, collaborate with stakeholders, and pursue professional growth.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.

  • Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student.
  • Create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students.
  • Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community to support student development, learning, and faith.
  • Assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement as an individual and as a member of a Catholic learning community.
