About The Position

Reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. This position assists with all aspects of the NCAA Division II women’s basketball program, including coaching, recruiting, operations, and student-athlete development. The Assistant Coach is responsible for adhering to NCAA and RMAC rules and regulations and representing MSU Denver in a professional manner consistent with the program’s philosophy and departmental core values.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach with practices, games, and player development
Support recruiting efforts and assist the Recruiting Coordinator
Assist with team scheduling logistics
Support practice planning and game-day operations
Provide oversight and support for student-athlete development and conduct
Assist with recruiting operations and coordination
Assist Academic Coordinator with grade checks, study hall, and academic monitoring
Manage and maintain team social media platforms
Complete travel authorizations, official function reports, and other required documentation
Complete Monthly Countable Athletically Related Activities (CARA) reports
Order, distribute, and maintain inventory of team equipment
Manage travel logistics, including itineraries, lodging, transportation, and meals
Organize and oversee team community service initiatives
Provide position-specific instruction (posts, forwards, or guards), including individual and film sessions
Assist with scouting and preparation of game materials
Perform other duties as assigned
