The work includes hands-on software and data engineering, collaborating with scientists and business teams to understand problems, and using AI responsibly and with appropriate governance. Python, SQL, software engineering fundamentals, and familiarity with LLM prompting or machine learning packages are typically expected. Several projects are better suited to master's students. Relevant majors include Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Information Technology, Mathematics, and Biomedical Engineering. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an undergraduate or graduate degree program and must return to school the semester after the internship or graduate after it.
