About The Position

Sanofi’s Global MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences, Analytics, and Technology) connects R&D and Manufacturing, supporting process excellence, product launches, data science, and digitalization. The Spring co-op is part of the Upstream team and offers hands-on exposure to upstream cell culture operations, process technologies, and digital and automation initiatives supporting process development and lifecycle management. The co-op will work with scientists and engineers on mammalian cell culture process development and characterization, new technology implementation, and process improvement investigations for development and commercial programs. The role contributes to selected laboratory and digital projects, data analysis, documentation, and cross-functional work in a collaborative industrial biotechnology environment, with mentorship from experienced scientists and engineers. The project focuses on developing and implementing automated bioreactor control strategies that integrate mammalian cell culture operations, Process Analytical Technology (PAT), and cloud-based control software. The co-op will support upstream bioreactor development, integrate PAT tools for real-time monitoring, develop and test control logic and software interfaces, and assist in simulation and testing of strategies before and alongside laboratory implementation. The co-op will also help ensure reliable data flow, system connectivity, and control performance, provide regular project updates, and deliver a final technical presentation describing results, learnings, and proposed next steps.
