About The Position

Stoneham Public Schools is hiring a long-term substitute 1st Grade General Education Teacher at Robin Hood Elementary School. Using the district’s curriculum, the teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences and creates an environment that supports students’ intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. The teacher supervises students in school-related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff, and the community. The tentative assignment period is February through May 2027.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Plan a program of study that meets students’ needs, interests, and abilities as much as possible.
Create a classroom environment that involves students in learning and enables them to achieve learning objectives.
Provide an instructional program that meets the needs of every student.
Guide learning toward curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
Plan and use instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques that motivate students and support achievement of learning objectives.
Take necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Build respectful relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and the community.
Evaluate personal effectiveness, apply acquired skills and information, and maintain and improve professional competence.
Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings.
Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Perform other duties as required.
