RSD Body Electric - 12V Electrician I
About The Position
The 12v Electrician I at Rosenbauer South Dakota is responsible for the electrical installation within fire apparatus equipment. This role involves routing 12v electrical wires according to wire diagrams and technical drawings, as well as connecting various 12v accessories such as lights and hose reels to electrical boxes. A key aspect of the position includes fabricating custom components like boxes, mounts, and other equipment to ensure the electrical installation aligns with blueprints. The individual will also be expected to fabricate wire harnesses as needed and communicate effectively with fabricators to ensure complete installations. Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Knowledge of DC electrical equipment required.
- 6 months or related experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
- Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally as needed to support department needs.
Responsibilities
- Routes 12v electrical wires to equipment and follows a wire diagram.
- Connect lights, hose reals and other accessories to electrical boxes.
- Fabricate boxes, mounts, and other equipment required to complete the electrical installation according to the blueprint.
- Communicate with fabricators to have a complete installation.
- Fabricates wire harnesses to complete installation as needed.
- Utilizes basic hand tools, shear, and brake press as needed to complete objectives.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
