About The Position

The Board of Education of Salamanca City Central School District is seeking to fill two 12-Month Cleaner positions for the second shift, working from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. These are full-time positions where employees are vital contributors to the mission of making students smarter and supporting their growth. Cleaners play an essential role in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming school environments that support student learning and well-being. Through their daily work and collaboration with staff, Cleaners help ensure that our buildings are orderly, healthy, and ready to support students and staff each day. These positions involve primarily routine manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. Work is performed under general supervision according to established procedures.

Ability to perform routine manual work efficiently and economically

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors and stairs
Dusts chairs, tables, and other furniture
Washes windows, walls, sinks, and other fixtures
Polishes furniture and metal furnishings
Empties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish
Replaces soap and towels
Moves and arranges chairs, tables, and other furnishings and equipment
Cleans clothes, equipment, and other laundry items using washing and drying machines
May load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or using a hoist
May shovel snow from sidewalks, stairs, and other passages
May direct facility users to appropriate areas and observe their conduct to report violations facility rules
May open, close, and check building securing windows, locks, and doors
May collect, fold, sort, and distribute laundry and linen items
May perform minor maintenance tasks
May operate motor vehicle to travel from one work site to another
All other duties as assigned
