About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The organization partners with more than 600 school districts and serves more than 7,000 students.

The 1:1 Aide supports an assigned student as directed by the student's individualized education plan (IEP), providing customized behavior support, accommodations, modifications, and instruction in valuable life skills. The aide works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic guidance and support.

Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from diverse developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Use de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages appropriate social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored at all times, including while moving to and from appropriate school locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans.
• Provide personal care support based on the student's needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
