About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with more than 600 school districts nationwide and serves over 7,000 students. The 1:1 Aide supports an assigned student as outlined in their individualized education plan (IEP), providing customized behavior support and teaching life skills as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role involves supporting students with diverse needs in inclusive educational settings and helping them develop appropriate social and behavioral skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from varied developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals, providing accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and record and track behavioral data, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Use de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages appropriate social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise and monitor students at all times, including when moving to and from school locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support consistent implementation of behavior plans.
• Provide personal care support based on student needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
