About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring face-to-face interpreters who speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek. Interpreters assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is in-person interpretation, not video or telephone interpretation. The role offers flexible scheduling: contractors choose their own hours and can accept as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. Previous professional interpreting experience is not required. Applicants must be located in Central Ohio.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
- Speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek.
Nice To Haves
- No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
- Applicants who speak English as a second language are welcome.
