About The Position

This position is for a Pipeline Controller I who consistently performs the duties of a Controller I and the additional duties of a Controller II with a high level of proficiency and little to no supervision. The role involves recognizing and identifying operational issues proactively, monitoring and managing OCC documentation, and using this insight to develop and deliver documentation/communication improvements to management. The position also includes daily training of pipeline controllers, identifying and developing improvements in departmental training practices, and taking ownership for the quality of training in the OCC. The individual will show leadership qualities, lead by example, hold themselves and peers to a higher standard, and exemplify a positive attitude regardless of job conditions. They will be accountable for the performance of the entire controller group, actively seek information from across the company to educate themselves and peers, and demonstrate self-driven behavior in pursuing further education internally or externally. A veteran track record for exemplary operation of the assets is expected.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (Or applicable program certifications) from an accredited institution in a Technical or Business-related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in liquids, gas or CO2 pipeline control may be considered in Lieu of an Associate’s Degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years direct and active work experience in the oil and gas industry, including working knowledge of industry terms and principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to utilize multiple resources to arrive at a solution.
  • Strong customer focus that includes demonstrated and consistent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to think quickly and provide support for emergency operations, including staying current on emergency operating procedures and practices.
  • Ability to quickly analyze changing conditions on the pipeline and make appropriate adjustments within operating parameters.
  • Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.
  • Basic understanding of PHMSA CRM guidelines.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
