About The Position

The Neuropsychology Technician in the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) Walker Family Clinic works under general supervision and is responsible for collecting patient information, maintaining patient information, conducting tests and/or procedures that the employee is certified to administer. The Neuropsychology Technician will administer and score neuropsychological test batteries evaluating cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional status in order to assist Neuropsychologists in diagnosis and treatment decisions. Will administer testing appropriately to determine localization of brain lesions, level of functional impairment, and other treatment decisions. Will provide technical support to Neuropsychologists on specialty teams and clinical research projects. Work with Neuropsychology trainees, maintain databases, and ensure appropriate testing supplies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology with appropriate coursework required for certification through the State of Arkansas Psychology Board
  • Eligible for licensure as a Neuropsychology Technician through the State of Arkansas Psychology Board
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Administering neuropsychological and psychological assessment tests under supervision
  • Preparing testing materials, scoring assessments, and compiling results
  • Monitoring patient behavior and performance during evaluations
  • Interviewing patients and collecting medical or behavioral history information
  • Assisting neuropsychologists with diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning
  • Documenting observations and maintaining accurate patient records
  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating testing sessions
  • Explaining testing procedures to patients and families
  • Ensuring testing environments remain standardized and distraction-free
  • Maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Entering data into electronic medical record (EMR) systems and databases
  • Supporting research studies and clinical data collection in some settings
  • Assisting with quality assurance and administrative tasks
  • Cleaning and organizing testing equipment and materials
  • Working with patients who have neurological disorders, brain injuries, dementia, ADHD, autism, epilepsy, or psychiatric conditions.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
