About The Position

Burnett Medical Center is looking for a casual/prn Physical Therapist Assistant to work in our busy rehab department. SHIFT & HOURS : Day shift, Monday through Friday, Casual/PRN JOB SUMMARY Provides physical therapy treatment and services to patients/clients under the direction of a Physical Therapist.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree Program.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients regarding physiology, anatomy and rationale for chosen treatments whereas education regarding prognosis or PT diagnosis should be deferred to the physical therapist.
  • Consults with and keeps the Rehabilitation Services Manager informed of needs, problems, and incidents involving the Rehabilitation Services Department.
  • Responsible in part, along with the physical therapist, for directing and reviewing the ongoing Restorative Aide services in the nursing home.
  • Plays an active role in conducting nursing home resident annual screens.
  • Plays an active role in conducting pre-employment screens.
  • Documentation of any services/treatments performed.
  • Performs other tasks as directed or required to facilitate the work/performance of the Rehabilitation Services Department.
