About The Position

Safely operates a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and water trucks. Responsible for preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk-around inspections of assigned equipment to ensure safe operation. Maintains positive working relationships, produces high-quality work safely and productively, and provides feedback to ensure necessary resources are available. Seeks opportunities for improvement and knowledge sharing. Possesses high proficiency in equipment preventative maintenance. Inspects subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, explains deficiencies, and takes corrective action. Focuses on eliminating waste in all aspects of the work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III), and six plus years’ experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • In-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
  • Effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Ability to move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
