About The Position

The SOC Supervisor plays a critical leadership role within the airline’s Systems Operations Center (SOC), overseeing daily dispatch functions to ensure safe, legal, and efficient flight operations. This position supervises a team of Aircraft Flight Followers, provides real-time operational support, and ensures compliance with all applicable FAA regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-pressure environment and brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and sound decision-making to the flight following operation.

Requirements

  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Part 121 airline dispatch environment
  • Strong knowledge of FAR Part 121 regulations, NOTAMs, METARs/TAFs, and ATC systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations and make sound judgments quickly
  • Familiarity with dispatch and operational systems (e.g., LIDO, Sabre, ARINC, or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational communications tools
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a dispatch or OCC environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of Aircraft Flight Followers to ensure the safe and legal release of all flights in accordance with FAR Part 121
  • Oversee daily flight following activities including flight planning, weather monitoring, routing, and weight and balance considerations
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex or irregular operations, providing guidance and support to dispatchers and coordinating with other departments
  • Ensure timely communication between Flight Following, Flight Crews, Maintenance, and other stakeholders during irregular operations (IROPs)
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company procedures, FAA regulations, and applicable safety standards
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and evaluating performance; provide ongoing coaching and development
  • Collaborate with the Manager, SOC to enhance procedures, tools, and systems for operational efficiency
  • Maintain shift coverage and staffing schedules; ensure adequate support for 24/7 operations
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and the development of corrective actions when required
  • Support emergency response procedures and business continuity efforts as needed
