About The Position
The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors is looking to appoint one (1) individual to The Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board made up of five citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors to a five-year term. The Board of Adjustment hears requests for variances, conditional uses and appeal of administrative decisions. The Board of Adjustment decisions are final and must be appealed to District Court within 30-days of the written decision. They are governed by provisions of the Code of Iowa and the Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Code in Chapter 8.096.
Requirements
- Must be a citizen appointed by the Board of Supervisors
- Must serve a five-year term
- Must be governed by provisions of the Code of Iowa and the Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Code in Chapter 8.096
Responsibilities
- Hear requests for variances
- Hear requests for conditional uses
- Hear appeals of administrative decisions
Benefits
- $25 per diem
- Round-trip mileage from home to the courthouse for each meeting attended
