About The Position

The Zone Team Leader (ZTL) provides guidance and direction for the successful operation of an assigned zone on a store’s retail sales floor. The role oversees associates focused on merchandising and selling merchandise, and helps ensure an exceptional associate and customer experience. The ZTL oversees merchandising and customer service, executes store procedures and operational programs, and may perform store opening and closing functions when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of retail experience in a supervisory role within a mid-size to large retail or service-oriented business.
• Ability to work onsite/in person, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and preserve the confidentiality of information.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and prioritize varied tasks and activities and work within strict timeframes and deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry terms and processes.
• Ability to communicate information effectively and delegate tasks.
• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid state-issued license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods; bend and twist frequently; grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently; and squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Execute established procedures for the assigned store zone, including merchandising, power aisle compliance, MOS/GVC/Ollie’s Follies, signage, displays, replenishment, pricing, ad sets, and daily recovery.
• Ensure store standards, Ops Center compliance, seasonal transition planning, inventory processes, and company programs meet operational expectations.
• Oversee the Door to Floor process so merchandise is planned for and received properly and the sales floor is stocked promptly.
• Supervise associates working within the assigned zone.
• Provide associates with daily tasks and ensure they are productive.
• Ensure customer service standards meet company expectations.
• Ensure proper scheduling and staffing for the effective unloading and processing of merchandise to the sales floor.
• Communicate company directives and programs to store associates and ensure follow-up items are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform store opening and closing functions when needed.
• Complete additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
