About The Position

This role is responsible for driving business growth and revenue within an assigned zone, focusing on retail business expansion. The General Manager will achieve targets for revenue and merchant acquisition, increase the adoption of Paytm products, and monitor market penetration and competitor activities. Key responsibilities include leading and managing sales teams, developing strong merchant relationships, ensuring operational excellence, and executing strategic business plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience handling large field sales teams and multiple territories

Responsibilities

  • Drive retail business expansion across assigned cities/territories within the zone.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and merchant acquisition targets.
  • Increase adoption of Paytm products including QR, Soundbox, POS, loans, insurance, and other merchant solutions.
  • Monitor market penetration and competitor activities.
  • Lead and manage Area Managers, Sales Managers, and field sales teams.
  • Set KPIs, monitor productivity, and ensure target achievement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and capability building.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture.
  • Develop strong relationships with key merchants and retail partners.
  • Ensure high merchant retention and engagement.
  • Resolve escalations related to service, operations, or product issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Improve operational efficiency and field execution.
  • Track business metrics through dashboards and MIS reporting.
  • Identify growth opportunities across markets and categories.
  • Execute zonal business plans aligned with company strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, and operations.
