Berklee YouTube Production Assistant

Berklee College of MusicBoston, MA
$17Onsite

About The Position

The Berklee YouTube team is seeking creative and motivated students to assist with all aspects of video production—including pre-production, production, and post-production—for Berklee’s media channels, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. We are seeking a student available to start in Spring 2026, with the potential to continue beyond that term. This is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in video production. Beginner experience levels are welcome to apply, though preference will be given to applicants who can provide demo material or samples of previous work.

Requirements

  • Must be a current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Note: During the summer semester, students may be employed without current enrollment, provided they are pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Must have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Must maintain a valid visa status, if applicable.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Note: First-semester students are eligible to work, even though they will not have an official GPA until the semester concludes.
  • Must be in good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be available to work on Boston campus for the duration of employment.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in video camera operation.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite—especially Premiere Pro—or comparable video editing software.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of meeting consistent deadlines.
  • Must be available for weekly team meetings and willing to contribute to brainstorming sessions for creative content development.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Record video in a variety of production environments, including performances, interviews, and on-location shoots.
  • Serve as a camera operator for both performance and interview-based productions.
  • Organize, manage, and edit multimedia assets for post-production.
  • Assist with the setup, breakdown, and transport of video, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the studio and production office.
