Youth Worker
About The Position
As a Youth Worker, you will lead groups with LGBTQIA2S+ youth and their allies, creating a safe environment, enhancing participants’ social skills, and providing access to a system of support. The role includes providing a welcoming environment, facilitating weekly social/support groups and group activities, recruiting youth to the support group, and offering skill-building opportunities that foster companionship. You will build community relationships by presenting to local organizations, provide one-on-one support and individual advocacy to youth, and complete some data collection, documentation, and virtual correspondence.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of positive youth development, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care, or willingness to build that knowledge.
- Ability to pass a background check and a Motor Vehicle record check.
Responsibilities
