About The Position

Hillcrest Youth Services is seeking a part-time Youth Care Worker for its residential program in Evansville, Indiana. The position is responsible for supervising residents and supporting their safety and daily care. The regular second-shift schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, and applicants must be available to work at least three days per month. New hires must complete a two-week training program, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and writing skills.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and qualification under the company's vehicle liability insurance.
• Must pass required background checks, including county and state checks, fingerprinting, CPS check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen.
• Available to work at least three days per month.
• Must complete a two-week training program upon hire, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related Human Services field is highly preferred.
• Previous work with juveniles is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents in the residential program.
• Serve as a positive role model and provide fair, constructive discipline.
• Maintain the security and safety of the facility and residents.
• Maintain complete and accurate resident records.
• Manage personal stress while performing the role.
• Administer appropriate medications.
• Follow the policy and procedure manual.
• Transport residents.
• Maintain laundry and perform general cleaning for each unit.
• Work with youth of all ages.
• Screen admissions and referrals for appropriateness of Hillcrest's programming.
