About The Position

i9 Sports is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Volleyball Coordinators for the upcoming Fall season. This role is pivotal in the development of young volleyball players aged 7 to 16. The coordinator will lead dynamic practice sessions with volunteer parent coaches, teach fundamental skills, and officiate games, ensuring a fun, safe, and educational experience for all participants. The position involves working weekends only for a 6-week commitment, starting September 12th/13th and ending October 17th/18th. Venues are located across Howard & Montgomery County MD, serving communities like Jessup, Columbia, Burtonsville, Savage, and Elkridge.

Requirements

  • Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball.
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a knack for motivating children and collaborating with parents.
  • Patience, high energy, and a passion for youth sports development.
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems on the fly.
  • Must be available for the Fall Season dates listed in the schedule.
  • Extremely reliable, responsible, and organized.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the season.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must have a personal vehicle / reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills of volleyball (bumping, passing, setting, and serving).
  • Implement age-appropriate drills using provided practice plans.
  • Lead practice sessions and assist/guide volunteer parent coaches.
  • Serve as the official for youth volleyball games, ensuring fair play and managing rule violations.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games.
  • Maintain an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with parents, players, and staff.
  • Complete mandatory pre-season training sessions.
