About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Volleyball Coordinators to join our team for the upcoming Fall season! In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development of young volleyball players ranging from 7 to 16 years old. As a Volleyball Coordinator, you will lead dynamic practice sessions alongside our supportive volunteer parent coaches, teach fundamental skills, and officiate games. Your goal is to ensure a fun, safe, and educational experience for all participants, from our youngest instructional groups up to our brand-new Advanced 15–16 Year Old League! This is a seasonal role for the Fall season, with commitment for 6 weeks, starting Sept 12th/13th and ending Oct 17th/18th. Shifts are weekends only (Saturdays) and venues are located across Loudoun County (serving the Leesburg, Ashburn, Purcellville communities).

Requirements

  • Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball.
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a knack for motivating children and collaborating with parents.
  • Patience, high energy, and a passion for youth sports development.
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems on the fly.
  • Must be available for the Fall Season dates listed in the schedule (Sept 12th/13th to Oct 17th/18th).
  • Extremely reliable, responsible, and organized.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the season.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must have a personal vehicle / reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills of volleyball (bumping, passing, setting, and serving).
  • Implement age-appropriate drills using convenient practice plans provided by i9 Sports.
  • Lead practice sessions and actively assist/guide our volunteer parent coaches.
  • Serve as the official for youth volleyball games, ensuring fair play, managing rule violations, and maintaining an unbiased, positive game environment.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games, maintaining an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with parents, players, and staff.
  • Provide program updates via Connecteam.
  • Complete mandatory pre-season training sessions (fully compensated).
