About The Position

A mental health professional directing therapeutic activities, individual, family and group therapy in the Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) Program as part of a team to stabilize and promote mental health wellness. Plans, implements, and directs treatment and works with the CSCT Behavioral Specialist as well as the school-based sites in which the program is assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a college or university with a master's degree in social work or counseling that leads to Montana licensure as a LCSW, LCPC or LFMT.
  • Currently licensed in Montana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor. If unlicensed must be credentialed with MT Board of Behavioral Health as a Social Worker Licensure Candidate, Professional Counselor Licensure Candidate or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate-MFLC.
  • Must have a strong knowledge base in the following areas: developmental stages of childhood, theory and practice of mental health principles, and assessment using DSM V as well as familiarity with serious emotional disturbance criteria.
  • Travel required. Must have current MT Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and current vehicle insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience with children is preferred, along with a thorough knowledge of emotionally disturbed youth. Other types of experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evaluations and individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Maintains complete clinical records on all clients, including accurate, thorough daily progress notes within 48 hours.
  • Completes necessary reports and assessments in timely manner in accordance with MRWH policy and CSCT procedure.
  • Bases assessments of children and adolescents on appropriate developmental theories. This assessment process will inherently involve the family, guardian or significant other.
  • Participates as a team member in provision of clinical direction in the development and implementation of programmatic activities.
  • Coordinates and participates in the formulation and implementation of treatment plans, which includes discharge and crisis planning.
  • Consistently exercises good judgement and exhibits emotional stability when responding in stressful or non-stressful situations.
  • Attends and participates in treatment team meetings, committees and professional meetings to present and assist in developing a comprehensive multidisciplinary program and ongoing review of treatment.
  • Provides psychoeducation to clients.
  • Facilitates milieu groups and socialization activities, and all other aspects of the program.
  • Performs emergency services both during and after normal work hours.
  • Improves skills and knowledge by reading the program manual and policy and procedures manual to understand the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates leadership by assuring integrity and quality assurance of CSCT program.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain good public relations with families, referral agencies and other community resources through appropriate organizational, written and verbal skills.
  • Provides consultation to other employees as requested and participates in staffing of cases.
  • Acts as the liaison between the CSCT program, the school district and MRWH.
  • Maintains a safe behavioral environment.
  • Participates in clinical supervision and completes applicable supervision logs.
  • Familiarity with MT Board of Behavioral Health licensing standards and maintain licensure applicant credentials.
  • Participates in in-service training and attends program staff meetings as directed by immediate supervisor. Required to complete 18 CEUs annually.
  • Provides transportation to clients in MRWH assigned vehicle (any transportation of clients in personal vehicle will assume responsibility to the employee’s personal liability and insurance). Must have valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and a personal vehicle.
  • Needs personal vehicle access to attend community meetings and carry out other assigned tasks.
