About The Position

Crossroads Programs, Inc. an Apis Affiliate is seeking a professional interested in joining our team as a Youth Support Worker in Willingboro, NJ. The ideal candidate is professionally passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hope Homes – Timber House provides a therapeutic environment that focuses on providing individualized care and support to our residents, between 14 – 21 years old. Our team of professionals play a vital role in helping our adolescents navigate their unique challenges and empower them to reach their full potential. Requirements

  • A high school or high school equivalency diploma and one year of experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field that is unrelated to social work or psychology and six months’ experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related field
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances

  • Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by these individuals.
  • Will be able to assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.
  • Can remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrate patience and understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation and transportation to appointments and activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment for each resident.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other career development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports.
