Requirements

  • Must meet COLA: DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test/MMR vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control entry and exit points by verifying identification, authorizations, and/or visitor credentials, helping to deter unauthorized access and supporting established access control procedures.
  • Monitor assigned posts, screening areas, and/or controlled doors for unusual activity, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Document visitor activity, incidents, and/or policy concerns in required logs and reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify security-related concerns, access issues, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
