The Youth Success Coordinator is a key member of the Thunder Bay Transitional Housing Program team, responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and wellbeing of participants. This position provides culturally safe, trauma-informed support while upholding the goals and values of the Thunder Bay Transitional Housing Program. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Youth Success Coordinator monitors participant safety, enforces program policies, and responds to crisis situations with empathy and professionalism. The role involves maintaining open communication with participants, collaborating with other staff and external service providers (such as security personnel), and documenting relevant information to support case management and service delivery. In addition to maintaining participant files and responding to requests for information or assistance, Youth Success Coordinator helps connect individuals with culturally relevant services and resources, contributes to program promotion and evaluation efforts, and assists daytime staff by supporting ongoing participant needs. This role may also involve creating support materials and performing light cleaning to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills, a deep understanding of Indigenous culture and community dynamics, and a commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and healing centered housing environment.
