About The Position
Mad Science is hiring! We are a team of STEM-loving folks who spend our days transforming laboratory science into fun, interactive learning experiences for youth from Pre-K to 6th grade. We believe in working smart and having a good time. We all wear many hats and we work collaboratively to get things done and ensure that our students and their families are thrilled by their learning experience. The job is different and exciting, offering the opportunity to work with kids and teach science workshops during the afternoon and/or weekends. We provide all supplies, equipment, and curriculum for easy, fun science classes. Most of our Jr. Scientists are in K-5th grade, and you'll teach basic science concepts in a fun and engaging way.
Requirements
- Flexible, creative, engaging and have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Love children, science, teaching and/or acting.
- Own/have regular access to a car.
- Proactive and take initiative.
- Thrive in environments with support and autonomy.
- Excited by non-traditional work schedules and the gig economy.
- Not afraid to try new things and love variety.
- Willingness to drive to various locations for workshops.
- Ability to teach basic science concepts in a fun and engaging way.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with acting.
- Experience in the gig economy.
Responsibilities
- Drive to a school, daycare or park and rec.
- Lead a one-hour exciting, immersive and interactive science lesson.
- Set up and take down for classes.
