About The Position
The YMCA at Franklin is hiring a part-time Youth Sports Official. This role involves leading youth soccer games, ensuring fairness, fun, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities include making calls, managing the game clock, explaining rules to young players, setting a positive tone, checking equipment, assisting with setup and cleanup, communicating with coaches, embodying the Y's core values, attending trainings, completing game reports, and making game days memorable. The ideal candidate has a passion for youth development and sportsmanship, knowledge of soccer rules, and can work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 16
- CPR Pro / AED / First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- Attend New Hire Orientation before your first shift
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience officiating youth or recreational sports is a big plus
- A passion for youth development and sportsmanship
- Knowledge of game rules for soccer
Responsibilities
- Make calls and manage the game clock during soccer games.
- Help young players understand the rules.
- Set the tone for a safe, positive, and exciting game day experience.
- Check equipment before and after games.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for games.
