About The Position

The Youth Sports Instructor provides leadership that constructively guides and teaches youth participating in a youth sports program. This is a seasonal position and hours of work will vary.

Requirements

• Age 18 or older
• Thorough knowledge of the sports program
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to promote a fun and positive learning experience for youth participants
• Ability to perform the following work tasks with or without reasonable accommodations
• Knowledge or and ability to teach program skills and techniques
• Ability to promote a fun and positive atmosphere for participants
• Ability to manage safe use of program equipment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with participants and parents
• Ability to be flexible with work hours, work independently, and complete job tasks as assigned
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Nice To Haves

• First Aid and CPR certification
• Prior experience desired

Responsibilities

• Plan and run programs that meet the needs of the program participants
• Ensure care and safety of all program participants
• Enforcement of rules, policies, and correct use of equipment
• Assist and recordkeeping including attendance, incident/accident reports, and equipment inventory/needs
• Respond to conflicts between participants in a positive manner
• Provide direction to other staff and patrons in the event of an emergency
• Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required
