About The Position
Positions in this class lead a youth sports team through practices and games. Officiate teams and games as needed. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.
Requirements
- 16 years of age and older
- Previous experience and knowledge of sports coaching is desired
- Mandatory training will be provided.
- Volunteers eighteen (18) years of age or older who are accepted for the assignment will be required to successfully complete a criminal background report.
- Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing)
- Convey a positive, friendly attitude, work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers.
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures; receive instruction from Parks and Rec staff
- Work congenially with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
- Ability to lift and move objects as needed
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience and knowledge of sports coaching
