About The Position

Help serve the youth and make a difference in your community! Volunteers are an essential part of our youth sports programs, and we need your help to make them successful. Whether or not you have a child on the team, you are welcome to apply to become a volunteer coach. You will become part of a dedicated team of professionals that will be challenged to learn and grow in an environment that possesses six core values: Integrity - Initiative - Empathy - Optimism - Innovation - Adaptability. This is a recreational program focused on equal playing time, skill development, and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Submit a volunteer application and pass a background check
• Agree to and follow the Code of Conduct

Responsibilities

• Attend the in-person coaches meeting
• Communicate with your team and parents throughout the season (TeamSnap, phone, text, etc.)
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of the game and ability to teach skills and drills
• Interact professionally and respectfully with players, parents, coaches, officials, spectators, and staff
• Plan and lead engaging, instructional practices
• Teach sportsmanship and teamwork
• Educate participants on rules and program expectations
• Communicate effectively with all program participants and stakeholders

• Account credit upon successful completion of the season (resident rate: $90)
• “Save 5” program allowing coaches to request up to 5 players for their team (this includes your child and player(s) who must be registered for the season)
