About The Position

Assumes direct responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of the treatment program in the facility on the first, second, and/or third shifts. This role involves maintaining a therapeutic milieu, providing training, coordinating performance evaluations, and investigating employee and resident issues. The position also requires participation in on-call duties, treatment reviews, team meetings, and preparing various reports on residents, programs, and treatment. Additionally, the supervisor is involved in the overall monitoring, coordination, and management of physical facilities, including safety and security measures, and contributes to developing departmental policy, procedures, goals, and budget. A key responsibility is developing and coordinating recreational activities and therapy for residents, dispensing medication as prescribed with appropriate documentation, and preparing routine reports, treatment records, behavior logs, and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Social/Behavioral Science or related field
  • 4 years management experience in a juvenile justice system
  • Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, development and coordination of the treatment program; maintain a therapeutic milieu.
  • Provide training and coordinate performance evaluations.
  • Investigate employee and/or resident grievances, injuries, escapes, lost articles, and destruction of property. Recommend and/or take appropriate action.
  • Participate in on-call, treatment review and team meetings.
  • Prepare on-going statistics such as weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual descriptions of residents, programs and treatment, as needed.
  • Participate in overall monitoring, coordination and management of physical facilities.
  • Monitor and review safety and security measures.
  • Participate in developing departmental policy, procedures, goals, budget, etc.
  • Develop and coordinate recreational activity/therapy for residents.
  • Dispense medication as prescribed and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain routine reports, treatment records, behavior logs, court reports, and correspondence with parents, other administrators, supervisors, and other agencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
