About The Position

The Youth Services Team Member will welcome all children and families, providing outstanding care while following area-specific procedures. This includes changing and disposing of diapers, leading age-appropriate activities, and relaying pertinent information to families about their children. The role involves engaging in the planning, preparation, and execution of games, activities, and schedules for all age groups. A key responsibility is maintaining a safe and clean environment for all children, which may include disinfecting toys, organizing equipment, reporting broken equipment, and managing cleaning supplies. The team member will observe children's behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply behavior management techniques. Attendance at all required training and meetings is mandatory, as is compliance with safety and emergency procedures. The position requires good attendance and reliable transportation, and adherence to all J rules, regulations, and standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous childcare experience is essential.
  • Able to assist in emergency situations as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of the job including bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all children and families.

  • Engage in the planning, preparation, and execution of games, activities, and schedules for all age groups.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for all children, following area-specific procedures which may include disinfecting toys, putting equipment back in age-specific areas, alerting the manager about broken equipment, and logging cleaning supplies.
  • Observe children’s behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures; apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Attend all required training and meetings.
  • Comply with safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain good attendance and have reliable transportation.
  • Follow all J rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
