About The Position

The Youth Services Team Coordinator ensures the availability of a coordinated integrated system of care with adolescents and transitional aged youth serving agencies and services. The position provides clinical and administrative supervision to the project staff direct care team (i.e., clinicians, case manager). This position is grant-funded and ends with the ending of the grant 6/29/2028.

Requirements

  • 60-hour master’s degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
  • Two years of experience working with adolescents and/or transitional age youth with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to existing professional ethical standards.
  • Ability to form and maintain effective counseling relationships with clients, to monitor client movement in the therapy process, and terminate the therapeutic relationship in appropriate ways.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to licensure regulations related to services provided.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the project staff direct care team (i.e., clinicians, case manager).
  • Ensures the availability of a coordinated integrated system of care with adolescents and transitional aged youth serving agencies and services.
  • Ability to supervise employees, providing direct training when needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally, both in person, and by telephone.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and to prepare written documents.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule.
  • Ability to travel to meetings, other campuses, and counseling sites.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide clinical supervision to QMHP-Es, Interns, and/ or LMHP-Es.
  • Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
  • Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations.
  • Regular attendance at trainings; Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
  • Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
