About The Position

Youth4Youth is a UK-based charity with a strong community of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of young people. They offer a peer-support network where young people can connect with a peer mentor of a similar age. The organization is looking for passionate individuals to join their growing team of remote workers, collaborating to increase the charity's reach and enhance support for young people. This executive-level volunteer role provides senior operational oversight and safeguarding leadership for Y4Y’s frontline digital mental health services, ensuring high-quality delivery of their out-of-hours peer-to-peer chat portal and supporting the development of their Peer Mentor Academy.

Requirements

• Senior experience in youth work, mental health services, social care, or safeguarding governance.
• In-depth knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and trauma-informed practices.
• Strong leadership skills with a supportive, empathetic, and non-micromanaging management style.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational delivery of our digital chat portal, video/voice mentoring, and future AI-driven early-intervention initiatives.
• Serve as the Lead Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP), maintaining rigorous clinical protocols and policy updates.
• Line manage Youth Services Team Leaders and provide strategic support to the Peer Mentor Academy and DWP Junior Mentors.
• Monitor service delivery KPIs, mentor debriefs, and user feedback to ensure high satisfaction, safety, and continuous operational improvement.
